Welcome to MansfieldU’s EarthLab!

Belknap Hall

Belknap Hall, our department’s home.

MU EarthLab is an on-going web project, under development by the students and faculty of the Department of Geosciences at Mansfield University.

The goal of this website is to provide a showcase for our active student-faculty research collaboration projects.  We hope that presentation of these projects on the web will get students needed critical feedback and recognition their projects deserve. Please feel free to leave comments (via Facebook) on any of the entries on this site — the students will appreciate it!

Currently, we have four major student projects on the site which are in-progress:

Tioga County Cemeteries

3D Mapping the MU Campus

Mill Cove Environmental Center

Mapping Abandoned Gas Wells

We also have several other projects:

3D Printing for Mapping

Carolina Bays Morphometric Analysis

UAVs for Mapping

We also have other blog entries showing student and faculty work, most easily accessed using the Blog button in the top menu, the “Blog Post Categories” menu to the right, or by clicking here.

If you’re an MU student who’d like to contribute work to our EarthLab website, contact Dr. Andy Shears for more information.
